LIGHTNING

LIGHTNING

I took this photo of my friend María. To make it, I used a hard source of light that illuminates from the bottom in the two pictures and the picture that is in the middle, from above. The pictures from the side are darker. I used an up-look light, an artificial light and other elements like the diagonal line. The type of shot is a close-up shot took to form a hero view angle. First I took the picture, and then I re-framed it on the computer because there were some elements in the back of the photos that I didn't want them to show up, I also photoshopped the pictures where in some spots a weird light in the corners in the pictures where. The format of the picture is 1:1. The high contrast between white and black gives us a powerful visual weight.

I told her to make the psychopath stare, which is related to the "predatorial" gaze; it is as if the psychopath is directing all of his intensity toward you through his eyes, a sensation like she is about "eat" someone. It is an intense, relentless gaze that seems to preclude the destruction of his victim or target. We can see in the pictures that she is very close to the camera of my phone and basically it is because as I have read, psychopaths tend to invade peoples' space either by their sudden intrusions or. The position of the model is so deep and I think I have captured this sensation in the photo. And of course, later, I edited it putting it in black and white.

Unfortunately, I couldn't focus on her pupils since I didn't use a professional camera; they say that non-psychopaths' pupils dilate when they see upsetting or distressing images as part of a natural response. In the picture that is in the middle, I also told her to make a little smirk since psychopaths use it to intimidate their victims a lot and because it has reminded me of a specific character of a TV show who is a psychopath and well a cannibal too (Hannibal) who always make that little smile whenever he is about to kill someone or he is about to approach that someone in order to murder them.

Psychopaths often wear a 'mask' - a fake persona - to hide who they really are. They construct different masks for different people and situations and use those masks to manipulate and get what they want. They astute o observers of human nature who size us up quickly. They pretend to share our beliefs and our preferences, which makes them likable, They mimic our emotions, They easily see our vulnerabilities and know just what we need,, and they pretend to give it to us. actually, they disguise enables them to what they need. The mask is what allows them to go undetected, stems from their lack of an identity. The mask a psychopath wears is only a superficial disguise, held in place by lies and manipulation. There is nothing at all odd or queer about them, and in every respect, they tend to embody the concept of a well-adjusted, happy person.

In this case, we can see the mask breaking because I wanted to show how in a way it was breaking, whether the walls of his emotions or of his most inner self. I believe that if a psychopath showed you his real self, his real identity, his cruelty, his pure ego where he lives constantly and his true intentions, they'll know you would run away as fast as possible. So he develops a mask for it. I also think psychopath loathe themselves and also create a mask for themselves in order to look at themselves in the mirror and be able to like what they see and to justify how great they are they have a right to abuse and take from you.

Psychopaths seem to not believe how horrible they are. They live in a state of denial and just can't understand when people tell them they are a liar, manipulator, they are fragile in that way. Their ego is their weakness. On the surface, they want to believe that they are good people, but deep down they are disgusting.

Here we can see how the is illuminated from above, the meaning is basically how little by little the mast is breaking until we can see and identify, her real she. We can know and most importantly she knows that she has been caught off guard. We can see no emotion in her face or at least she doesn't wanna show them. She doesn't scream or get help because if they were to looks at how much she has hurt people and themselves that it wound her ego (the psychopath) so much that they would end up giving up in their life. She is pure ego if you bust their ego bubble, she would annihilate. The mask is how she survives.
